This is
inflammation of the lining of the stomach.
What to look for

upper abdominal pain.
nausea.
vomiting.
diarrhoea.
loss of appetite.

attacks do not last for a long time) gastritis usually last only one or two days. People
with chronic gastritis may have no pain but may experience appetite loss or nausea.
Causes
Gastritis can be caused by
too much alcohol, food
poisoning or a bacterial infection. Aspirin and other over-the-counter and
prescription drugs may cause erosion of the stomach lining.
